Sunday

This was emailed to me by a friend. The last story is my favorite. Something to bring a smile to your face. Have a wonderful day!

Reasons Not To Mess With Children

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God..'

The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.'
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They will in a minute.'

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to 'honor' thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?'
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, 'Thou shall not kill.'

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?'
Her mother replied, 'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white.'
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, 'Mummy, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?'

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.'

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face.'
'Yes,' the class said.

'Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?'
A little fellow shouted,

'Cause your feet aren't empty.'

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples.. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
'Take only ONE . God is watching.'

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'

2010 Winter Olympics - It's a great day today!

I have to say that this is the best time of the year. For me, it tops Christmas, birthdays, carnivals.....etc. Watching the Winter Olympics is my most favorite thing to do. Today, sharing that with my oldest (Z) topped that moment even more. We re-watched the opening ceremonies and he declared when the U.S.A. walked in, that we needed to put our hands on our hearts and say the Pledge of Allegiance. While watching a hockey game this afternoon, he decided that his football jersey became his new hockey jersey. And, best of all.....his eyes got big watching all the various events that the athletes participate in. Even though I am swamped with these classes......I am taking time to experience the Olympics with my son. Memories that will never be forgotten.

Teeth

Let me start by saying that I love my boys.....both of them. But........geesh!! N is teething. Back when he was 5 months old, he got 4 teeth in. His top and bottom front teeth. And from that point to just a few weeks ago, that is all he had. So, we have been very blessed and fortunate to have only dealt with a few tantrums due to teeth for the past 17 months. Then, 3 weeks ago....they decided to come. Yes.....ALL 16 of the remaining teeth. What did we do to upset the gods? What's going on here? Our sweet, loving, fun, hugable toddler has turned into...... into... .... into.....a climbing, walking, screeching, unhappy and I'm going to tell you child. Oh, please pray that these teeth come in quickly.........

Z is going through a growing spurt and an independence spurt. He has to decide when he wants to eat something. He has to decide when to go somewhere. He has to decide if things are good for him. And he's sleeping more and more and needing to go to bed earlier. The good thing....he is having very, very few nights of bed-wetting. FINALLY!!!! So there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

It's amazing what stages these boys go through....but I wouldn't trade them for the world!

The funny things that happen.......

Sunday morning, and my oldest is getting his coat on to walk over to church (we live across the street now from church) and my youngest son starts crying. Not sure why N is in tears, but it appears he doesn't like what Z is doing. So, Z turns to N and says, "I'm sorry that I'm leaving N. I will miss you. But don't worry, I will sit with you at church and we'll be together soon."
After that, N was fine.

Isn't it amazing what 6 year olds pick up and say.

Loving life today

Just a good day and loving life. Who could ask for anything more?
