This past summer, we have been working on a few projects.
Project #1
May - My husband updated the landscaping around the house. It was pretty bare and had no real anything. So, with some flowers (from my in-laws and gifts for mother's day from my boys) and some landscaping rock (from a left over roof project), he put it all together.
Project #2
June - Since we moved into our home in WF, we had been concerned about the paint chipping in the basement. So, after my husband scrapped tirelessly for a week, I got to paint the basement wall a brick red. I think it looks pretty nice. Someday, we'll tackle the rest.
Husband scraping....a few days later, I primmed and painted.
The entire wall has a rustic look to it. It's more cool up close.
Project #3
June - Since my birthday is June 23 (just in case you didn't know), I wanted something fun and inexpensive. I got both and LOVE IT! My husband had been helping my father-in-law tear down a building on the farm and one of the doors just had opportunity calling me. I talked him into making it into a patio table. He worked so hard on transforming it into a cool patio table and made sure that he did every inch of the work. I love it!!!! (have I mentioned that before). He even got it done for my birthday!
Just a door
A door with legs now (also from things around the farm)
put together as a table.....freshly sanded.
The finished project!
Project #4 (last one for summer 2009)
July - Since we moved to WF, yes again.....paint was chipping in our kitchen. And since we have a small child who is all over and putting things in his mouth, we thought it was best to remove the wallpaper that was painted on and chipping and paint the walls. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint and a few light fixtures do to transform a space! It turned out wonderful! And although this is phase I of a 3 phase project, we are loving the new look!
Before/during transformation pictures........ wallpaper removed and ready to paint.
The end of Phase I - Ceiling textured and painted. Walls painted. New light fixtures.

Everything looks great! I'm sure you're both glad to be going back to work so that you can get a rest from all the summer home projects!
