This was a busy, but very fun weekend for us.
Friday night, after daycare was done, the 3 of us headed north to Grandma & Grandpa's home in SD. It was a fun night. We packed sandwiches and just drove straight to Sioux Falls. When we got there, our son was wired! We were celebrating Christmas and so we "had" to open Christmas gifts before bed. So, any thought of sleeping for the 4 year old, was out of the question. So, at 9:45, we started the process of getting to sleep. Around 10:15, we got him settled down. Around 10:45, my husband decided to go to bed. And since the 3 of us were sharing a bedroom, he climbed into bed and my son was still awake. My husband decided to kid around with our son and said, "Goodnight". Our son responded the same. Then they kept saying goodnight back and forth for a bit. Finally, my son just responded, "Go to sleep dad." That ended things. I came to bed 30-45 minutes later and both were very asleep.
Saturday, we spent the day hanging out and shopping with Grandma and Grandpa. Sam's Club is always fun to go to with a 4 year old. Makes all so much fun.
Lunch was at my nephew's work. We surprised him and just showed up to eat. He is a bus boy and enjoys his job and got a kick out of the fact that we surprised him. (He was stuck at work all day because of a split shift.) Getting high fives from my son and hearing his name across the crowded restaurant, just made his day.
Then we went out shopping some more and then went home for some football time. You all know my son gets with football and playing with Grandpa is no different. After supper, we headed home.
Sunday was relaxing but quick. Church in am, then rest time. Husband worked at school a bit. When he got home and our son woke up from his nap, we decided to go to a movie. Since the new Veggie Tales movie is out
(check it out when you have a moment, it's cute: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything).
Our son had a blast! He laughed, hid his eyes, and just had fun. The video at the end is quite funny too (you can find it on the website too). He was good and we all had fun.
Then we headed home for some time to ourselves. What a quick, but fun weekend.
Hope yours was fun too.
